laryngeal paralysis

We have a Rottweiler/German Shepard mix rescue we adopted in March of 2013 and his age was 2-3 years old. In the Summer of 2022 he began having swallowing issues, coughing and could not bark well anymore.

Our vet at the time said he had a common ailment Pharyngeal paralysis that some dogs get where the flaps in a dog’s throat no longer function properly due to nerve issues and that he would get weaker and weaker in the back end as well. He said there was no remedy for the throat other than surgery and gave me no other alternatives to help him.

I did some research and found Dr. Marcie Fallek who has dealt with Holistic remedies to help dogs with these types of issues. We visited, she did a full vet exam and put him on all natural drops and pills for both his throat and back legs. She also recommended healthier foods.

A year and a half later his throat issue has improved greatly. He can bark much better and has little to no issues eating and getting food down. While his back legs are weaker, which is normal for these breeds, he is still managing to go up and down the stairs and jump on the couches. His appetite is fantastic, and his coat is soft and shiny. Thank you to Dr. Fallek for helping to keep our senior dog happy and healthy.
