ABOUT DR. FALLEK

My love of animals began when I was very very young. However, initially my education and studies drew me in a different direction. I always had a very inquiring mind and following my pursuit of knowledge and truth, I ended up with a degree in philosophy. This has served me well in my life and my life's work, as I learned to think for myself, to question the accepted norms and to listen and trust my inner voice.

As I became a vegetarian when I was 17, I learned the difference between health and dis-ease. I learned to question the synthetic and chemical additives that the food industry was adulterating our food with. I learned a better path to health, rather than just the popping of pills. I knew to question the pharmaceutical companies ' claims of safety and "cures" with their many drugs. I understood their vested interests.

As there was not much market for philosophers, after I graduated from college, again, I decided to follow my heart's dream and pursue a life helping and serving animals. I decided to go to veterinary school. I will admit, it was tough going initially, as it seemed less like healing and more like just dispensing the medications that I generally distrusted. Although conventional medicine can certainly be beneficial in many acute and life-threatening conditions, it faces severe limitations and many risks with the drugs used to treat most chronic conditions. But life has a way of unfolding just as it should. A few years into my conventional practice, I had heard about a veterinary acupuncturist in the area. I started to refer some of my difficult cases to him, and indeed, many "miraculous" cures were reported. So when my own rottie-mix developed autoimmune joint disease, most likely the side-effect of a vaccine, I decided to go to take Annie to him, as I was very reluctant to give my beloved dog any of the standard drugs normally recommended for the condition.

This was the turning point in my career. Although Annie did not seem to respond to the acupuncture, I was so encouraged by the the successful stories of the many people and their companions that I met in his office that I quickly decided to study acupuncture. That was in 1993. I haven't looked back since. Within 2 years, I began formal studies in classical homeopathy, initially as an option for those animals, particularly cats, that did not enjoy needles stuck in their bodies. What I found in homeopathy was an even more successful way of treating almost every condition, from behavior disorders all the way to cancer. I have been attending approximately 8 -10 conferences and courses a year since then in various modalities.

I learned that homeopathy was particularly thriving in Europe, and have been studying in England for the past 12 years.

Today, I couldn't be happier. To be a vehicle and a witness to true healing. To see the "incurable" be cured or at least to extend the quality and quantity of life, to a degree considered impossible with conventional medicine.

This voyage is a joint endeavor, between me, the animal and their companion on the road to health.
